Human Error is a trading name operated by Human Error Marketing Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. We take your privacy seriously. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Contact form
When you fill out our contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The message you submit
We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry.
Newsletter
When you sign up to our newsletter, we collect your email address and use it to send you new Notes and occasional updates from Human Error. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. It collects anonymised, aggregated data such as pages visited, referring sites, device type, and country. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify individual visitors.
Why we collect it
We collect contact form data on the basis of legitimate interest — you've reached out to start a conversation, and we need your details to respond.
Newsletter data is collected on the basis of consent — you've chosen to subscribe, and you can withdraw that consent by unsubscribing at any time.
Analytics data is collected on the basis of legitimate interest — it helps us understand which pages are useful and improve the site, without identifying you.
How long we keep it
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted.
Newsletter subscriber details are kept for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and remove your details on request.
Analytics data is retained in line with Vercel's standard retention settings.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We don't pass it to third parties for marketing purposes.

Calendly
If you choose to book a call via our website, you'll be directed to Calendly, a third-party scheduling tool. Calendly collects your name, email address, and any other details you provide during booking. This data is processed by Calendly LLC under their own privacy policy, which you can view at calendly.com/privacy.
beehiiv
Our newsletter is delivered using beehiiv, a third-party email platform. When you subscribe, your email address is stored and processed by beehiiv, Inc. on our behalf so we can send you our emails. beehiiv may also record whether emails are opened or links are clicked. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to how we process your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
